United 93

There are an awful lot of people going to the movies, these days. I'm pretty sure none of them are deliberately setting out to see UNITED 93.

But they should.

I went to a screening the other night and, as always, sat through the credits. I look for people I know. The really surprising bit; some of the "cast" actually played themselves, including the majority of air traffic controllers.

These men and women agreed to relive that day in every agonizing detail. You have to give them, and the crew, a lot of credit. The pacing isn't terrible; gradually moving from an everyday-ness to a singular panic to the inevitable halt.

I won't say I enjoyed it, I didn't. But you should see it.

UNITED 93 opens April 26th at a theatre near you.
